Christmas Break

Too much has happened since I last updated to do a full update.
I’ll give you short quips with my excitement rating next to it.

Dec. 21–Harry Potter book 7 title was released as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
No words can describe my utter excitment for this book. I’ve been dreaming about this moment for years. I have my fingers crossed for an 07 release date. Anyone that wants to accompany me to the midnight release party is welcome, when the date is released that is. However, after I get the book I will lock myself away and read until I’m done.
Excitement rating–99999999^99999999/5

Dec. 25–There is something in the air during Christmas day. It could be the awesome breakfast, it could be getting spoiled the heck out of opening gifts, but I’m pretty sure it is just the fact that my whole family gets together and just has too much fun.
Excitement rating–5/5

Wait, that was it? No I did more…

Oh!

Dec. 23–Burn Christmas Party! Our whole leadership team was very pleased that this turned out to be a very good event. We were shooting for 50 and I think we actually hit 53!! But yes, the mystery dinner worked out well(even if Niall never got his noodles) and the gift exchange was awesome. I got out with two very odd CDs and two Nintendo wristbands!
Excitement rating–5/5

Dec. ??–I saw A Night At the Museum with my dear friend Chris Luna. I must say, it was better than I thought it would be. Although there were still too many parts I cringed at…
Excitement rating–3/5

Is anyone else listening to this new stuff Relient K is cranking out?! It’s amazing!

I also just purchased the Starcraft Battlechest. I’ve owned starcraft before, but reading a book based off the game inspired me to buy it again and play it all over again. I never really got the storyline, but it’s awesome. I’m looking to play some online games after I finish. The computer player is challenging, but who knows what a human opponant would do! Although I have to say, the zerg suck…

Well, I’m off to dream of whatever the devil Deathly Hallows will mean…

Friend Update

I added some more friends from school. More are getting blogs!! Wanna know why? Because Blogger is better than xanga, livejournal, and myspace put together!
I also created my very own Dead Friends section for those that don’t update their blog. Shame on them.

AP Bio Test part Uno was today–Piece of Cake
AP Bio Test part Dos tomorow–One question
AP Calc Test Part Uno tomorow–Non calculator section, must study
AP Calc Test Part Dos thursday–Calculator section, must study

Anyone want to help tutor me in AP Calc in case I bomb this test too?

Frick, anyone want to go back in time and make 18th century writing better? I’m sorry Sarah Shead, but I am not enjoying Tale of Two Cities. It’s rate of blah blah to story is 9999999999:1

AH!!! TWO POINT 5 MORE DAYS OF SCHOOL! If the number of days left=4.5-x, where x is number of day relative to this week, how fast is school decreasing tomorow night?!

dy/dt=-dx/dt dx/dt=-1

Tomorow night school is decreasing at a rate of 1 school day per day! WOOOTT!!!

That was too easy….

4.5 days…

Luckily, I have a spanish field trip today. So it will make school pass by faster and I get to practice spanish. Unluckily that means I will have to skip AP Bio, the class where I have a two day test starting tomorow. Then on Wednesday I start my two day AP Caclucus test on Applications of Derivatives. If you could, please pray for both of these tests. In previous tests and quizes I slacked off a bit and my grade dropped.
While you are praying, please pray for the Morrison family. Their father is having surgery today.

In other news the Burn Leadership retreat was a blast. The ride up was painful because I was stuck in the back of Mike’s truck the whole time, but the rest of the trip was awesome! We snowboarded all day saturday, in a freaking blizzard. And now I am quite sore all over. Even in my neck?! We planned all the events for the 2007 year for Junior High and High School and we read all the way through Mark. It was a good weekend, to many good times to tell.

If anyone has not checked out the new Relient K stuff, go do it. It’s awesome. The released two songs on Itunes for the price of one.

Oh dreaded homework

The Wii is so cool.
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess has officially overtaken The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time as the best video game of all time.

This whole weekend has been a hassle for me to do my homework, and here I am Sunday night at 4:30 with an Essay to start and study for Math. As I sat down to start my essay I eyed a package on my desk underneath some papers. “What is this?” I asked myself as I picked it up. A bag of Army men of course, from last Christmas. So instead of doing my essay I begin to construct this….

Right click and View to see it up close, I think…

If anyone is wondering why the one guy is in the plastic on top of the red CD case, it’s because he got blown up with a grenade and the force of the explosion launched him up there.

So if anybody needs army men I have allot, that bag and about 5 others in my closet(I must collect them or something). Maybe I could make a huge still frame movie. That would be pretty epic.

Another bulletin board picture and them I’m done to go do homework, then the Wii, then Pierced, then more homework. But probably not the Wii, just more homework.

Oh and one more…

I couldn’t resist me being in 2nd place out of all the day’s scores. Dan Kim got 3rd. WOOT!

We went to see Othello today at Vanguard. It was very well done. I liked it a lot. Iago was a very very evil man. Their interpretation added in two demon female things…I’m not really sure what they were. But they made the play much more interesting. It gave me an eerie feeling watching them getting characters drunk in deception and evil. It reminded me alot of This Present Darkness.

I am SO tired of people shouting racism. I hate political correctness. Go Die.
It seems the racism has flipped and now the Minority gets away with being racist against the Majority, how does that even work?!

Troubles

Yes, I really do think the existence of God is obvious. It’s obvious in science/creation. It’s obvious in people’s lives. And it’s obvious within the Bible.
I guess I did make a word mistake. Maybe evidence would have been better than proof. As Nathan reminded us, there is no 100% proof of God. Faith is a neecesity in Christianity. The obviousness of God makes faith easy to understand. Just as a jury sometimes uses faith when there is not 100% proof of something, we use faith as well. However, as Christians we get made fun of for having faith.
I am perfectly open-minded with the idea of no God, however the vast majority of the evidence does not–which is why I don’t believe it. I was open-minded when a scientologist explained the idea of Xenu bringing people to earth and then blowing everything up, however that isn’t supported by much evidence either.
Belief in God incroporates God and us, not just us, and not just God.

Again, this will fall under–”Some guys don’t believe in God and can prove He doesn’t exist, and some guys do believe in God and they can prove He does exist, and the arguments stopped being about God a long time ago and now it’s about who is smater, and honestly I don’t care.”

It seems no matter how hard I try, no matter how hard I study, no matter how much I understand AP Calculus, I can’t get above a C on the tests. It almost seems unnatural. I do the homework, get it right, do the review questions before the test, and get them right as well. I take the test, I think I do pretty good(Atleast a B+!). But I get it back and BAM, C-! Is it possible that God himself could be intervening? I take that back, of course it’s possible. But I don’t really think God cares about my AP Calculus class. Well, maybe. Who knows.

The Oath is an extremely good book.

I hope to not lose touch with friends from High School after we graduate.
Although I probably will lose some.

I’m with Amy and Donald Miller, I don’t care. However the arguments do fascinate me.

Continuity…

I tried to be like God, but when I tried I failedAnd every time I fail, and failI know I rail a nail straight into the cross of JesusStraight into the wrist of JesusAnd now it's 1996, a hard year to be a Godly manIt seems the more I speak The Word, the less they understand

The OC Supertones seem to have my feelings summed up.Although it isn't 1996 anymore, nor do I feel that it is 1996.

Even though you can know something, and have vast proof of it, that is still notenough to convince other people of the obvious. It is a frustrating knowing thateven after many attempts you still cannot influence other people's beliefs. Theywill believe in what they want to. I do tip my hat to the people that actually givesomewhat logical reasons for not believing in Christ. It's the people that won'teven hear it as a remote possibility that really grinds my gears. And then I getframed as closeminded b/c "I believe only God created it all."*Sigh*"One of the central assertions of the Christian world-view is that thereis "more". Those who oppose this insist that this is all there is, thatonly what we can measure and observe and see with our eyes is real. There is nothing else. Which perspective is more "close-minded"? Whichperspective is more "open"?"--Rob Bell"Andrew would say that dying for something is easy because it is associated withglory. Living for something, Andrew would say, is the hard thing. Living forsomething extends beyond fashion, glory, or recognition."--Donald Miller"Believing in God is as much like falling in love as it is like making a decision.Love is both something that happens to you and something you decide upon"--Donald Miller"Some guys don't believe in God and can prove He doesn't exist, and some guys dobelieve in God and they can prove He does exist, and the arguments stopped beingabout God a long time ago and now it's about who is smater, and honestly I don'tcare."--Donald Miller

Aftermath

So I got the Wii, and it is way cool. I heard that monkey ball didn’t turn out so well for Nathan, that’s a shame. But I can confess that Zelda is freaking awesome. Wii sports is freaking awesome. And I don’t know about Red Steel yet, I haven’t played it. Cory and I are still on the lookout for another nun chuck extension. We both have extra Wiimotes, but no nun chucks….I haven’t tested out the Internet on it yet, laziness, but hope to do that today. The Mii channel is really cool, making your own avatars, and the photo channel is awesome as well. You can just plug in an SD card with photos, MP3s, or videos and either view them as slide shows, or tweak them with cool effects and doodles.

The Wii is glorious!!

The more important part of my weekend was awesome as well. The Missionary conference was absolutely amazing. A hundred times better than I thought it ever could be. Every day you could pick three workshops that are taught by missionaries from a wide variety of subjects. I only picked one boring one, Media Mania. But the rest were very educational, interesting, and spiritual. I mainly focused on Creationism vs Evolution themed ones, Why the Genesis account is Necessary in Missions, Talking to Intellectuals(or Nonintellectuals) About Creationism, Creationism Evangelicalism, etc. Those were all very enlightening. I attended another media themed one, I-Design: 7 Ways to use your Graphic Arts to Promote Missions.

All in all it was an amazing time spent with amazing people from both my church and the far reaches of the globe, all coming together to help others spread the word of Christ.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and it’s in two days. These two days are probably going to be spent:
a) Playing the Wii
b) Cooking
c) Homework
d) All of the above

My money is on d).

Wii Day Minus 5 days 4 hours

Yes, it’s within a week and I can smell it. Counting down the hours as well now. I’m celebrating this week with a diffrent Wii video to watch each day, and continuing to sell my gamecube, and Gameboy Advance. If you want to purchase either just let me know and i’d be happy to sell them at a discounted price for friends! Craigs list is actually giving me alot of hits, although many of them aren’t following through very well.

Not a very eventful day today. Except when I was waiting in the post office I could understand a full conversation between two spanish speaking people. It was a good sign that I am learning the language.

In Bible class we are approaching the Pre-destination Issue. Deep debates indeed. What do ya’ll think on pre-destination?
